NCC Kids Soccer Camp
July 11-13 | LaSalle Springs Middle School
Christians who play sports can attest to the many benefits that such involvement can provide, including stress reduction; weight control; camaraderie; and the development of accountability, leadership, and communication, goal-setting, and problem-solving skills. The endurance and perseverance required in athletic competition can be valuable in building and strengthening character.
One of the greatest benefits of competing in sports is the development of self-control: “Every athlete exercises self-control in all things” (1 Corinthians 9:25). In the crucible of competitive action, the presence of self-control—or the lack of it—becomes obvious to all observers.
NCC’s Soccer Camp not only provides the training and fitness discipline for those from first grade to eighth grade but it also provides the opportunity for the campers to be challenged by the Scripture pep talks at the end of each day. This year’s camp will be held from July 11-13, from 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm. We are waiting to hear back from LaSalle Springs Middle School for the final confirmation so your prayers are greatly appreciated. There is a nominal registration fee of $10 for the first camper, $5 for the second and no charge for any additional registrants from that family.
We have scheduled Tommy Heinemann and his team of assistants to bring the instruction on soccer fundamentals and testify to the work of the gospel. Heinemann retired from professional soccer following the 2018 season. On April 16, 2019, he was named an assistant coach with the Belmont Bruins men’s soccer team.
