Rich Gregory
Pastor-Teacher | Staff Elder
Rich Gregory grew up in a pastor's home in Michigan and was saved at a young age. His early life context was the local church, which is where he first began to develop a love for the people of God as well as seeing the Word of God do its work in hearts. It was from these formative ministry experiences that Rich began to see the Lord develop in his heart a desire for full time pastoral ministry which led him to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Bible at Bob Jones University followed by a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching at The Master's Seminary.
Having served as a pastor since 2010 and as John MacArthur's Pastoral Assistant for eight of those years, it was Rich's joy to serve the people of God and to see them grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ. Since 2014, Rich also served in management at The Master's Seminary as the Senior Vice President for Administration. It was because of his desire to devote himself to the "ministry of the Word" (Acts 6:4) that Rich departed from GCC and TMS in 2020 to become the Pastor-Teacher of New Community Church in Wildwood, MO.
Rich's desire is to faithfully explain the Word of God to the people of God so that they might know the mind of God. As Ephesians 4:12 states, he believes it is through the ministry of God's Word that the body of Christ is built up and the people of the church are equipped for the work of the ministry. Ultimately, it is his passion to serve the church in this way and to see "every person made complete in Christ" (Col. 1:28).
Rich and his wife, Michelle, have been married since 2006 and currently reside in the Wildwood area with three young children.
Jerry Marshall
Pastor Emeritus
Pastor Marshall is a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute, Trinity College and has attended Trinity Seminary in Deerfield, IL. The original goal for his life was to become a professional musician. Shortly after realizing his dream, he discovered that having “arrived” did not bring the joy or the fulfillment that he anticipated. Through a series of providentially arranged circumstances, he came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Since that time, he has been passionate about knowing the Lord’s Word and teaching it accurately.
Jerry’s passion for assisting people to comprehend and apply God’s Word through the vehicle of expository teaching is best articulated in Nehemiah 8:8, "They read from the Book of the Law of God, making it clear and giving the meaning so that the people could understand what was being read."
Pastor Marshall has over three decades of ministry experience. Through these years, Cynthia, his wife has faithfully served beside him as his life partner and gifted participant to the overall ministry. Together, they have three sons who are married and raising their own families.
Pastor Marshall is a gifted communicator who is dedicated to teaching God’s Word one verse at a time
Jeremiah Kirberg
Pastor of Administration | Staff Elder
Jeremiah was born and raised in the "Big Sky Country," Montana. He grew up in a great Christian home and attended church every time the doors were open. But it was not until college that God graciously intervened in his life and convicted him of his rebellion against God. While studying business management in college, he began to have a desire to serve the Lord in a full-time capacity. After college he moved to Montgomery, TX, where he served at a church for nearly two years before moving to Los Angeles, CA, to pursue a M. Div. from The Master's Seminary. While in seminary, Jeremiah served as a Pastoral Assistant in the high school ministry of Grace Community Church and was the Director for Regeneration Summer Camp. Jeremiah came to NCC as the Minister of Students in August 2011. He has since taken on the responsibility of church administration in December 2012. He was then installed as an elder in May of 2015 and oversees the overall administration of the church including leading the staff, finance, communications and Equip classes. Jeremiah understands his ministry to be a mercy of God and considers it a great privilege to give his life for Christ's church. Jeremiah and his wife, Courtney, were married in 2009 and have four children, Noah, Hudson, Colette and Adalynn.
Mike Engelsgjerd
Associate Pastor
Mike’s childhood was one of suitcases and road atlases. In between their moves from Ohio to Texas, to Minnesota, to Wyoming, to Texas (again), and finally to Michigan, Mike and his family held yearly summer excursions that led them back and forth across the country visiting grandparents, family camps, and the many varied scenic landscapes of America.
It was at one of the summer family camps when Mike was 10 that he surrendered his life to Christ. Having been raised in church, he had known the facts of the gospel since could remember. But during this camp, the truth about his sin and Christ’s sacrifice penetrated his heart, led him to repentance and faith, and started him down the path of pursuing Christ. This pursuit continued after high school when Mike joined the Army, where he served for the next 15 years as an Infantryman, deploying multiple times. While he served, he also completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Government online through Ashford University. Toward the end of his enlistment, Mike had a growing desire to serve God in full-time vocational ministry. This led him to switch to the Army Reserves, where he now serves as a Chaplain Candidate, and to complete his Master of Divinity at The Master’s Seminary.
Mike began working at New Community Church in July 2025 and considers being a pastor the greatest privilege in the world. As Mike has often said, “Something could happen today that has an impact for eternity.” As a pastor, Mike has a front row seat to this eternal working of God, and He is eager to serve God alongside the leaders and people of NCC to make Jesus Christ known and to build one another up into His fullness.
Chris Moore
Pastoral Assistant
Chris grew up in Springfield, IL near much of his extended family. Though he attended churches growing up, it was not until his freshman year of college that the Lord brought about true conviction, repentance, and faith. While attending Missouri S&T pursuing degrees in Civil Engineering, the Lord began to increase Chris's desire to know the Word of God and teach it to others, and provided several key ministry opportunities to that end. In his final semester of graduate school, Chris married his wife Haley, and they moved together to St. Louis in January of 2019. Chris spent the next several years working in the bridge design consulting industry, and after coming to New Community Church in late 2020, the Lord blessed him with continued opportunity to engage in various ministry activities in the local church. With his aspiration set on pursuing vocational pastoral ministry, Chris enrolled at The Master's Seminary in the fall of 2021 while continuing his profession in engineering and serving closely with the pastoral staff at NCC on various special projects. With great joy and thanksgiving, Chris took an opportunity to join the pastoral staff full time in February 2025 as a pastoral assistant while he finishes his Master of Divinity program at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (anticipated Spring 2027). Chris and his wife Haley have been married since 2018 and have three adopted children, Vivienne, Jude, and James.
Drew Nilius
Minister to Students
Drew lived most of his life in the Sunshine State, Florida. He grew up in a great Christian home, but it wasn’t until later in high school that Drew finally understood that being a Christian was more than just a religion; it is a daily relationship. He attended Clearwater Christian College in Clearwater, Florida. It wasn’t until the summer in between the second and third year at Clearwater that Drew realized God was calling him into student ministry. He realized this calling while doing an internship with the student ministry at Heritage Baptist Church. Drew began to pursue his desire to serve the Lord in a full-time ministry capacity. He served as a youth pastor and worship leader at Faith Community Church in Seminole, Florida. It was there that Drew met his lovely wife Kelsey. They got married in December of 2017. They moved to Granbury, TX where they worked at a Christian International boarding school as house parents to 8 high school girls. While at the school, Drew was the assistant campus youth pastor, worship leader, and coached a few sports. Drew and Kelsey are excited to see lives changed within the church to the glory of God. They are thrilled to see how God will use them in this role to serve the students of New Community Church by bringing God glory, making disciples, and sharing God’s love.
Matt Mehringer
Sunday School Director
Matt was raised in a strong Christian home and as a son of an Air Force officer, he enjoyed living in different states before a longer residency in California. In 2005 at Master’s University Matt met his future wife Ashley and in time they were graced by God with five gifts (Psalm 127:3): Reese, Allie, Quinn, Colt and London. After obtaining his California teaching credential, Matt spent twelve rewarding years as a teacher at Trinity Classical Academy in Santa Clarita. In the classroom, he interacted with upper elementary, middle school, and high school students and later took on a leadership role with the middle school. The Lord led Matt out of education in 2018 and then his family to St. Louis two years later (a beautiful story of God’s sovereign control over all things)! He is grateful to work with a growing sales team at Winco Window and use his passion for teaching to call students to follow Jesus Christ!
